We suggest Valvoline premium blue 15w-40 for warm weather operation or Valvoline 5w-40 for cold weather operation. Alternatively, Schaeffer 700 series is a great oil.

We hope they earn your business. When you buy this kit, you are leaning on decades of research and a dedicated team of engineers and suppliers. This cam kit is the result of thousands of camshafts, thousands of dyno tests and tens of millions of miles our cams have run.
All of our 178-208 steel cams are formed via forging. This provides even tighter grain structure and a halo of grain that mimics a shell on the exterior of the cam that provides additional strength and better longevity. Most steel cams are usually not forged but made from bar stock which has a less homogeneous grain structure. Our tappets are Gas carburized, then polished and DLC coated for longevity. If it is not DLC coated, beware. The pushrods have over 3500Lbs of buckling force compared to around 1800lbs for the OEM pushrods. This reduces deflection at higher cylinder pressures and keeps valve timing where it was designed. The rocker arms are a high-quality casting with Gas carburized ball and foot and a DLC coated trunnion. OEM trunnions gall and are a point of a lot of friction. This kit is certified for 49 state compliance due to our Sema Certification testing.
