Keeping stock cam timing

Our OEM replacement cams are intended to retain stock performance. Choose the listing for your engine: 1998–2002 5.9L or 2003–2018 5.9L and 6.7L. The latter requires Hamilton Cams 1.45-inch lifters.

Comparing performance grinds

The 178/208 combos are aimed at low-RPM response. The 188/220 listings describe a 1,700–4,500 RPM range and include specific turbo and clearance guidance. On the 24-valve 188/220 combo page, VP44 owners are directed to the 178/208 option.

Cast and steel have different installation requirements

The 188/220 cast cam is listed for daily-driver and light-competition use. The 188/220 steel cam is listed for drag-strip and pulling applications and requires at least two cam-tunnel bushings.

Before ordering, review piston-to-valve clearance, lifters, springs, break-in and oil requirements. For 2019 and newer engines, use the product-specific roller or conversion-kit fitment information. Contact us with your engine year, turbo setup and intended use if you need help choosing.
